Goldsmith that employs traceroute-like techniques to analyze IP packet responses to determine gateway ACL filters and map networks. Firewalk the tool employs the technique to determine the filter rules in place on a packet forwarding device. The newest version of the tool, firewalk/GTK introduces the option of using a graphical interface and a few bug fixes.

Ghost Port Scan -v0.9.3
Published on 2002-10-07 - by Teardrop, ©Teardrop.
The aim of Ghost Port Scan is to provide administrators and pen-testers with a tool that allow them to easily test firewalls and get information from a remote host. GPS is a port scanner and a firewall rules disclosure (FWRD) tool, which uses IP spoofing, ARP poisoning and some other technics in order to perform a stealth and untrackable information collect. As far as GPS needs to sniff the responses from the target host, it requires to be run using a loopback or an ethernet interface (including cable modem).

Nmap -v3.93
Published on 2004-08-31 - by Fyodor, ©Fyodor.
Nmap (Network Mapper
) is a free open source utility for network exploration or security auditing. It was designed to rapidly scan large networks, although it works fine against single hosts. Nmap uses raw IP packets in novel ways to determine what hosts are available on the network, what services (application name and version) those hosts are offering, what operating systems (and OS versions) they are running, what type of packet filters/firewalls are in use, and dozens of other characteristics.
Nmap
runs on most types of computers and both console and graphical versions are available.Nmap
is free software, available with full source code under the terms of the GNU GPL.- Changelog:

nmbscan -v1.2.4
Published on 2005-02-04 - by Gregoire Barbier, ©Gregoire Barbier.
nmbscan scans the shares of a SMB/NetBIOS network, using the NMB/SMB/NetBIOS protocols. It is useful for acquiring information on a local area network for such purposes as security auditing.
It can obtain such information as NMB/SMB/NetBIOS/Windows hostname, IP address, IP hostname, ethernet MAC address, Windows username, NMB/SMB/NetBIOS/Windows domain name, and master browser.
It can discover all the NMB/SMB/NetBIOS/Windows hosts on a local area network by using the hosts lists maintained by master browsers.

Rnmap - Remote nmap -v0.10
Published on - by Tuomo Makinen, ©Tuomo Makinen.
Remote Nmap (Rnmap) package contains both client and server programs. Actual idea for this sofware is that various clients can connect to one centralized Rnmap server and do their portscannings. Server does user authentication and uses excellent Nmap scanner to do actual scanning. Rnmap is written entirely in Python and is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

smtpmap -v0.7
Published on 2003-04-16 - by Dennis Lubert, ©Dennis Lubert.
Smtpmap is now completely rewritten in C++. The idea is based on fingerprinting the human readable return messages from smtp answers. The fingerprints are created by the features and answers given by the server, so they might differ on same server but different configuration. I have nearly no fingerprints so please send me some, so I can add it to the packaes.
