cebolla -v0.5.0
Published on 2002 - by Zach Brown, ©Zach Brown.
Cebolla provides multi-hop anonymous IP tunnels which use UDP for transport. The tunnel end-points are presented as networking devices on the client and on the final hop. The current implementation is linux only.

Mixminion -v0.0.7.1
Published on 2004-05-10 - by nickm, ©nickm.
Mixminion is the standard implementation of the Type III anonymous remailer protocol, which lets you send very anonymous email. This best-of-breed remailer uses conservative design approaches to provide security against most known attacks. We chose a simple, extensible design so that we can provide a robust core system and then experiment with new research features such as dummy policies, directory servers, and reputation systems.

MorphMix -v0.1
Published on 2004-01-27 - by Marc Rennhard, ©Marc Rennhard.
MorphMix is a peer-to-peer circuit-based mix network to provide practical anonymous low-latency Internet access for millions of users. Unlike traditional circuit-based mix networks such as Tor (the successor of Onion Routing), the Anonymity Network, the Freedom Network, or JAP, MorphMix does not consist of a relatively small set of dedicated mixes that serve many clients. Rather, every MorphMix client is also a mix at the same time and contributes to the mix network infrastructure. MorphMix has been fully specified and thoroughly analysed, and the most important results are that MorphMix scales very well, provides good protection from a realistic adversary, offers good performance such that users won't turn away from the system, and has modest hardware requirements. As a proof of concept, a prototype has been developed that implements the entire MorphMix protocol. The main conclusion of the project is that MorphMix overcomes the limitations of traditional mix networks and is the first practical system that enables anonymous low-latency Internet access for a large number of users.

Tor -v0.0.9.2
Published on 2005-01-04 - by Roger Dingledine, Nick Mathewson, ©Roger Dingledine, Nick Mathewson.
Tor is a toolset for a wide range of organizations and people that want to improve their safety and security on the Internet. Using Tor can help you anonymize web browsing and publishing, instant messaging, IRC, SSH, and more. Tor also provides a platform on which software developers can build new applications with built-in anonymity, safety, and privacy features.
